I wanted to research deeper into the meaning of the concept 'meme' I researched and found 'the meme machine' by Susan Blackmore.

Blackmore describes humans as 'extraodinary creatures with the unique ability to imitate, and so to copy from one another ideas, habits, skills, behaviors, inventions, songs and stories. These are all memes, a term first coined by Richard Dawkins in 1976 in his book The Selfish Gene. Memes like genes, are replicators, competing to find space in our minds and cultures'.
